Lowell Color Guard (Auditioned Placement - Extracurricular).
The Guard program at Lowell include both Colorguard and Winterguard. The Colorguard performs with the band as part of the Marching Band and the Winterguard performs independently at the Spring concert. Guard is the sport of the arts. It uses flags, rifles, sabers, and dance to portray a story. It is a visual representation of music. Students in our program display high levels of coordination and understanding of new concepts. The Lowell Colorguard has displayed very versatile styles in the past with shows that required skills ranging from ballroom dancing , frolicking, or even scaring the audience. In their most recent Winter program, the Guard was able to perform something a bit closer to home, portraying teenagers who constantly were on their phones. In this years Marching season, the Guard was able to reflect back on a simpler time of their life and rock some overalls and hair bows with the show "When We Were Young..." The Guard is excited for this years Winterguard program and their performance. They plan to work intensely to bring themselves to a new level of performance by adding more movement and more intricate routines. The Guard has progressed exponentially is looking forward to what the future years have in store for them.
